What would be your choice? (YLT 2Sam 24:12-15)

When I was prompted the 1st question.  I Thank God for David's wisdom in answering the question.

I appreciated David wisdom of letting God made the decision for him.

YLT 2Sam 24:14: "14 And David saith unto Gad, `I have great distress, let us fall, I pray thee, into the hand of Jehovah, for many [are] His mercies, and into the hand of man let me not fall.`"

For the wisdom of knowing God is merciful that His choice will be merciful.

Then I wondered why seven years, three months and 3 days.

Seven years of famine - in hunger, in wants.

Seven means completeness, also mean curse.

Years - seasons of up and down repeatedly in wants, no ending.

3 Months - a season

A season fleeing before my adversary -- and he pursuing me? 

How long a season, depends on me.

The seven years in wants also self dependance, only He is my Shepherd that I will not in want, that's through my own walk that in my lowest point I see, I witness.

3 Days - in Light.

How long is 3 days is up to God.

Three is three phases of our walk with God.  Why I said three phases, it is from the years God reveal to me, the phase in book of Matthew, then the phase added with what's in book of Mark, the next phase added another in book of Luke.

3 days of growing in the Light of God, walk with God.

YLT 2Sam 24:13 .. now, know and see what word I take back to Him sending me.`"

Now, know and see

Now, pay attention.  

Not See and know but know and see; go not by sight but understanding 1st and then see.  Understanding the reason, understanding why then you will see.  See God grace.

Gad was sent to deliver David from his great distress.  Why David has great distress? Why God offered these three choices and not others?

David number Israel and Judah (2Sam 24:1)

Is there anything wrong number Israel and Judah?  Why God so angry?  

Isn't our God gracious? Why He angry and gave David these three choices?

What happened before these?

YLT 2Sam 23:2-7: "2 The Spirit of Jehovah hath spoken by me, And His word [is] on my tongue.

3 He said -- the God of Israel -- to me, He spake -- the Rock of Israel: He who is ruling over man [is] righteous, He is ruling in the fear of God.

4 And as the light of morning he riseth, A morning sun -- no clouds! By the shining, by the rain, Tender grass of the earth!

5 For -- not so [is] my house with God; For -- a covenant age-during He made with me, Arranged in all things, and kept; For -- all my salvation, and all desire, For -- He hath not caused [it] to spring up.

6 As to the worthless -- As a thorn driven away [are] all of them, For -- not by hand are they taken;

7 And the man who cometh against them Is filled with iron and the staff of a spear, And with fire they are utterly burnt In the cessation.`"

God wanted to bless His people.  (2Sam 23:3-4)

He who is ruling over man [is]  righteous, He is 4uling in the fear of God.  And as the light of morning he riseth, A morning sun -- no clouds! By the shining, by the rain, Tender grass of the earth!"

This is the 1st Grace offered by God.

But David followed by saying 

'For -- not so [is] my house with God (2Sam 23:5-7)

David rejected God's Grace offered. David wanted to rule his own way.

YLT 2Sam 23:1: "1 And these [are] the last words of David: -- `The affirmation of David son of Jesse -- And the affirmation of the man raised up -- Concerning the Anointed of the God of Jacob, And the Sweetness of the Songs of Israel:"

David fall when he was raised up (2Sam 23:1), self righteousness came into him.

He claimed the spring up of all his salvations, his desire has nothing to do with God Grace. (2Sam 3:5)

David followed by spoke evil onto the people (2Sam 3:6-7) with the authority of the Holy Spirit (2Sam 2); The Spirit of Jehovah hath spoken by me, And His word [is] on my tongue.

A warning to us, to watch what we speak over.  Speak life and not evil.

As to the worthless.. (2Sam 23:6-7)

Worthless - judgement came in.

As a thorn driven away - thorn (thornbush, origin - to spend the summer)

Thornbush is found in desert, to spend the summer sweating - labour

Signify in want - the seven years of famine.

Not by hand are they taken - not by others by self.

YLT 2Sam 23:7: "7 And the man who cometh against them Is filled with iron and the staff of a spear, 

This is the 3 months 

2Sam 24:13 .. three months art thou fleeing before thine adversary -- and he pursuing thee..

The 3 days pestilence in thy land

YLT 2Sam 23:7: ".. And with fire they are utterly burnt In the cessation.`"

Number the Israel and Judah, value them, judge them.

YLT 2Sam 23:14: "14 and David [is] then in a fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,"

After David spoken evil he has great distress, he was trapped.

Here God offered His 2nd Grace - the water from the three mighty man, the Trine God.

Again David rejected God Grace.

YLT 2Sam 23:5: "5 For -- not so [is] my house with God; For -- a covenant age-during He made with me, Arranged in all things, and kept; For -- all my salvation, and all desire, For -- He hath not caused [it] to spring up."

David had spoken, God arranged in all things, and kept.  God never mean to judge but because of David, judgement came in.

How God help:

1. God offered His Blood (2Sam 23:16)

2. God reduced the 3 judgements to one to be lifting up even before David repent.  God sent Gad to David.

3. God stop the messenger to destroy Jerusalem (teaching of peace)

4. After David repent, God sent Gad to show a way out to David

Isn't God altogether Loving?

Now, Know and See.

Transformation start from seeing Him altogether Loving.

Abba Father,

I Thank You for Your Word.  Thank You for showing us when and where we are vulnerable to sin and bring to ourselves and those innocent destruction.   Thank you for Your Divine Love for us, again and again and again reach out to deliver us.  Thank You for showing me my Parents Love for me, watching over me 24x7, running after me clearing my mess, transform me and lead me to my salvation, never tire, never give up on me that one day I will be who You had called me, fullfil my calling before the Day.  Thank You for continue to speak to me, expound Your Word to me in Jesus Name Amen.
