Why sometimes God spoke to David through another?

Yes, we might misunderstood God, but He himself will correct our understanding. Fear learning the truth doesn't change the truth, the sun still there even we hide ourselves from it. God has set a table before all of us, each is presented with what they need in different season and different walk of life;  what A needed to feed on is not for B but part of it might be good for B in the present season; do take our main meal from the table and not from another's plate. Beside seeking God directly through the Word and the Holy Spirit, we are called to break bread from house to house and gather on the sabbath to hear the Word, the teaching and the reasoning.  We are called to eat at home before come to gather on the sabbath (1Cor 11:34).  As to what I know, BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) is adapting this practice, did own reading of the Word before gather to break bread (sharing what individual has glean, reasoning) and hear the teaching of the Word. This is a very important message, a reminder to consult God even if we are called a prophet.  No one know God's plan except God the Father Himself. YLT Mar 13:32 `And concerning that day and the hour no one hath known -- not even the messengers who are in the heaven, not even the Son -- except the Father. This is the 2nd time recorded, Nathan the prophet did not consult God before he reply David (2Sam 7), and after the second time God corrected him, no more word from him was heard of.   We all are given chance to repent, do learn from every correction. As I shared before, all similar events are of purposes, some to show us our progress, some to highlight gaps, for correction, milestone.  The previous examples I shared were from New Testament, here are the examples from Old Testament. Doing good and for God is good, but most important - is it of God? Do talk to God, fellowship with Him to know what is of God. Abba Father, Thank You for shows us how we

Why all these histories in the Bible?

There's no short cut to come to know God, to learn the mysteries in the Bible. Reading the Bible is different from reading a book. We need the Holy Spirit to expound to us when reading the Bible.  It is a two way communication. Individual, God might reveal His answer in a different way, as for me He spoke to me at moment I'm not expecting His Word, no room for my mind to manipulate, to clearly distinguish what's from Him, and He testify His Word within the week. I was given a Bible (NT) in English by a stranger before I was twelve.  I love reading books but I put it down after a few pages, 'What kind of book is this? Why all these names? Who wrote this book? Who would read this kind of book?'.  I kept it in my drawer.  A few years later, I was given another Bible (NT) in my mother tongue, also by a stranger.   I decided to read it, again I put it down.  I wasn't a believer back then. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, the Bib
