Why people believe John the Baptist? In wilderness, how people hear him?
Why?
Why the prophet is crying in the wilderness?
How people hear him?
How people know the prophet is crying in the wilderness and went out to see?
People went out to the wilderness to view, to look on. Why not the prophet go to them?
What am I missing? 🤔
And why people believe John the Baptist?
How people know John the Baptist has the Answer they seek?
These people do not have the Holy Spirit in them to reveal the Truth, so what caused them to believe?
At times, I am seriously amuse by God's humor 😅
The Truth can be so so out of what I thought I saw til the Holy Spirit reveal. I'm speechless 😌
I was reminded, God used the game in a children's bible app to point out I didn't read the Bible with full understanding. I failed Gen 1 😌
Read again.
Mat 3:1: And in those days cometh John the Baptist, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea,
'Jehovah is a gracious giver' the Baptist Cometh, proclaiming as a herald to follow after his manner - in time and space to be alone to praise God, fellowship with God.
The Baptist cometh, proclaiming Jehovah is a gracious giver, follow him the herald's manner - in the wilderness, a time and space alone with God, fellowship, praise Him.
Mat 3:2 and saying, `Reform, for come nigh hath the reign of the heavens,`
Change, Prioritize the more important - spend time with God, for He has made us Righteous by giving us the Gift - His only Begotten Son to die at the Cross on our behalf.
Mat 3:3 for this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, `A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye His paths.`
This is what Isaiah, the prophet Jehovah has saved spoken about the Baptist,
`A voice of one crying (The Baptist, a herald of one proclaiming)
in the wilderness (in the time and space to be alone with God),
Prepare ye the way of the Lord (prepare your way - the way of the Lord),
straight make ye His paths (His paths make you straight, upright, prosper, well).`
Mat 3:4 And this John had his clothing of camel`s hair, and a girdle of skin round his loins, and his nourishment was locusts and honey of the field.
What did John the Baptist appear to people? What did people see?
Not clothing of camel's skin but camel's hair. In the old days, how to make a camel's hair clothing without the technology?
Camel is classified unclean in the Bible; hair means to care for, take care of, provide for
Jehovah is a gracious giver!
God the Father is Loving. He cares for the sinner.
Camel's hair reminds me the woman, a sinner who wet Jesus' feet with her tears, anointed the feet of Jesus with ointment, wipe Jesus feet with her hair.
To whom he forgave the more, did love much. (Luke 7:40-47)
Jesus' Finished Work that bring life.
A girdle (yoke, a balance) of skin (blood shed - the Finished Work of Jesus at the Cross) round his loins (generative power). Jesus give us His Righteousness which bring life.
The Holy Spirit gives Life.
The locusts (the adversaries - like the giants are bread), the honey of the field (sweet in the mouth, lifted up life, nourishment from the cooperate anointing, from the gifts of the Holy Spirit through church communion - the sermons, serving, the sharing from the body of Christ, the brothers and sisters in Christ)
How people see Jehovah is a gracious giver in us?
Mar 1:1 A beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
The beginning of good news - testimonies of Jehovah is Salvation Anoited. Jesus Christ, Son of God.
Mar 1:2 As it hath been written in the prophets, `Lo, I send My messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee,` --
God send. We the messenger (not messengers for we are A Voice, One Voice) to go before the people, to appear before them to testify Jehovah is a gracious giver. Just as what I shared in Why Jesus said 'Give ye them to eat' in the gospels? for people to hear and see, we the messenger to go before them to share for them to hear, to see - to let them witness themselves.
God messenger is not only for the unbelievers, it is for the believers too. God send messenger to appear before us, who shall prepare our way - the manner before us.
Mar 1:3 `A voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye his paths,` --
`A voice of one calling in the wilderness (the Baptist, One who deserted himself/herself calling to God, refer Jesus' example in Mar 14:39 and Luk 22:41),
Prepare ye the way of the Lord (prepare you the way, the manner of the Lord, through a living testimony, example)
straight make ye his paths,` -- ( the Baptist's path, the living example - make you straight, upright, prosper, well)
Mar 14:39 And again having gone away, he prayed, the same word saying;
Luk 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone`s cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying,
Mar 1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness, and proclaiming a baptism of reformation -- to remission of sins,
The one who know Jehovah is a gracious giver, show by example as herald proclaiming a baptism of reformation -- to remission of sins which is baptizing in the wilderness (the deserted time and space with God)
Jesus Himself asked to be Baptized, He Himself included; He herald for us to follow.
Mat 3:15 But Jesus answering said to him, `Suffer now, for thus it is becoming to us to fulfill all righteousness,` then he doth suffer him.
Yes through Jesus, we are called the Righteousness of God in Christ when we believed and declared Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, however we still living in this world, we need to cleanse the dirt that attached to us with or without our knowing just like having bath daily, we need to spend time alone with God fellowship with Him to have part with Him.
John 13:8,10: "8 Peter saith to him, `Thou mayest not wash my feet -- to the age.` Jesus answered him, `If I may not wash thee, thou hast no part with me;` …
10 Jesus saith to him, `He who hath been bathed hath no need save to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and ye are clean, but not all;`"
This verse reaffirm the Baptist proclaiming with a living example. The baptism is through the wilderness, deserted self to be alone with God, calling out and fellowship with Him.
Mar 1:6: "6 And John was clothed with camel`s hair, and a girdle of skin around his loins, and eating locusts and honey of the field,"
The differences in Mat 3:4 and Mar 1:6:
In the phase of Matthew, John has the clothing of camel's hair but he didn't put on signify people heard of the good news but yet to take to their own benefit, imagine me telling how good the camel's hair but I don't wear it, people hear about it but not yet witnessing. Whereas in phase of Mark, the person can testify Jehovah is a gracious giver because he/she clothed with the camel's hair,
In the phase of Matthew, John's nourishment was locusts and honey of the field.
Nourishment can only be heard not seen. Only in phase of Mark can testify, John eating locusts and honey of the field, eating - physically see Jehovah is a gracious giver.
When we see John, we see Jehovah is a gracious giver.
God the Father is Love, care for the sinners, He forgive much. He Loves;
Jesus - God the Son, The Lord, His Finished Work at the Cross, our Righteousness of God in Christ;
Holy Spirit - The transformation, the work of the Holy Spirit in us that we eating the locusts our nourishment; and the honey, the cooperate anointing from The Church through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Jehovah is Salvation.
From phase of Luke started to see Jehovah is Salvation.
Luk 3:3-6
3 and he came to all the region round the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of reformation -- to remission of sins,
4 as it hath been written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, `A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye His paths;
5 every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straightness, and the rough become smooth ways;"
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.`"
This is where when we personally exercise the baptism - fellowship with God, have our personal coffee time with Him, the personal encounter with God prepare us the way, the way of the Lord, and we shall see the salvation of God. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straightness, and the rough become smooth ways.
John 1:23 He said, `I [am] a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.`
The phase at John, no longer prepare the way of the Lord; the intimate relationship with God enable him/her to make straight the way of the Lord. They can hear clearly, they sensitive to how God speak, how God testify His Word, they know His will.
The focus from phase of Luke started to shift from 'Jehovah is a gracious giver' to Jehovah is Salvation. This is when Holy Spirit indwelling in us, working in us.
Why not proclaiming 'Jehovah is Salvation' right from phase of Matthew?
Why need to proclaim 'Jehovah is a gracious giver'?
John 14:6 Jesus saith to him, `I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one doth come unto the Father, if not through me;"
God the Father gave His only begotten Son, He who has no sin came as Man did bear our sins to make us the Righteousness of God in Christ.
We must know Jehovah is a gracious giver, received this Gift from God which make us Righteous to receive our Salvation.
1Pet 2:24 who our sins himself did bear in his body, upon the tree, that to the sins having died, to the righteousness we may live; by whose stripes ye were healed,"
Notice one thing, How John appears to people, what he wear, what he eat only mentioned in Matthew and Mark; Why?
It's no longer important what others wear or eat when we personally encounter Jesus and know Jehovah is Salvation. The focus is we ourselves to be transform more and more like Christ, match toward our mark.

The Five Phases in Our Walk with God
Abba Father,
Thank You for clarity of thought and Word in writing and reading this post. Thank You for highlighting what is the key topic John the Baptist is proclaiming, the priority, 'set aside personal coffee time or even a few days at times to be alone fellowship with You, praise You.' We need to be washed by Your Word to cleanse us from the dirt of this world daily even we might not see the need. I wouldn't be able to notice the dirt
till it became noticeable and affecting my health. Best I done my cleaning daily regardless. I pray I continue to spend time with You daily, praise You in all circumstances and see Your Work in my life everyday in Jesus Name Amen.
It costs the Father, His only Begotten Son, to send you this invitation to be His beloved child, that you be part of His Family, call Him 'Father'.
